Thanks for all the pizza love! It was really tasty too, although I'm not sure I'd do asparagus again... All the other dishes look yummy!

Re: Boolprop Chef Chat
After all this talk of Italian food, I had the most AMAZING pesto burger downtown last night. Now I'm thinking about trying something with pesto at home because omg pesto, but here's how knowledgeable I am about it...
My Sister: Oh yeah, I cook with pesto all the time.
Me: Really?? How do you buy it?
My Brother (the smartass): With money.

You know, pesto is super easy to make too - and no matter how many store-bought ones I try, homemade is just best!
I freakin' love a good basil pesto... I always say there's not enough pesto in my life. Seriously. I do say that.

I bet it is! Do you need a food processor though? I may just be the most ill-equipped cook in the west. (You're talking to someone who reads "crushed almonds" in a recipe and has to go get a hammer from a toolbox...)ZaleISBI wrote:You know, pesto is super easy to make too - and no matter how many store-bought ones I try, homemade is just best!

Or a blender? But yeah... you kinda do... but people were making pesto before food processors and blenders... so a lotta elbow grease and chopping? (but yeah, that sounds kinda terrible).

Haha, I'll try it one of these days! A little hard work never hurt anyone... but I think I'll start with baby steps.

I thought I posted... I must have closed the tab while cooking. Anyway- I looked for Italian recipes and found out Biscotti is Italian... they're cookin' right now. I like 'em but don't make them often (because I love 'em).
A Food Processor sounds like a dream. My hand mixer and blender don't' quite handle the bigger recipes.

Legit sat here waiting for the picture after you said you were making biscotti. And I was not disappointed, it looks so good!! The little plumbob guy is cute too.

Thanks so much, Gryffindork!
*chew*crunch*muchin'* I wish I could share... cause I really shouldn't eat so many. I can't hide them from myself like I could hide cookies from my kids.

Rflong, your biscotti looks amazing! Love the plumbbob too.
Sam - if you want to try playing around with pesto at home but you don't want to make your own pesto, try picking up a jar of PC's Splendido pesto from nofrills or Loblaws. It's usually really cheap - like $2.99 for a jar at nofrills - it lasts forever, and it's delicious. Pesto pizza, pasta, and sandwiches are awesome!

Thanks, Emily! Super helpful having a fellow Ontarian here to point out specific grocery stores and items. I'll take a look next time I go shopping!

You're welcome, Sam! Always gotta help out fellow Ontarians! Your sandwich looks delicious, too! I'm glad the pesto worked out for you.

Re: Boolprop Chef Chat
I'm really glad this round is going until the end of the month! I love seafood, but my boyfriend isn't a huge fan - he likes tilapia and fish and chips, both of which aren't super heavy on fishy/seafood flavour - so I haven't been able to make a fish meal for myself in the past few days. I might be able to make something this week, though.
EDIT: Also, in regards to Siem's post which I totally missed reading, is there a way to win the same medal twice? Maybe a second medal for participating in 20 or 25 Boolprop Chefs would be a good idea.

Okay, so for every 10 entries beyond the first 10, you can get a medal from the Pick Your Own category!
