The Ranch Life Legacy Challenge

Hello and welcome to my challenge! This is for The Sims 4 and will require the following packs: Horse Ranch expansion pack

# To Begin:

• Roll dice 1-10 to see how many Sims you can create in CAS to start with.
  - (1-3) single
  - (4-5) single with 1 son/daughter (age is up to you)
  - (6-7) couple
  - (8-9) Couple with 1-3 children and/or horses (# of children/horses can either be rolled for or you decide. You can mix and match children and horses to have a combination of both, not to exceed 3 for your start)
  - (10) couple with live-in parent
• The ages of your starting Sim(s) is up to you.
• Pick a large lot in any world you wish. It must be at least 50x50 to fit your ranch as it grows.
• You can choose for yourself OR you can roll for your starting season to begin with.
  (1-3) Spring
  (4-6) Summer
  (5-8) Fall
  (9-10) Winter
• You have inherited this large parcel of raw land. Bulldoze the lot when you move in for a fresh start.
• You may take out ONE 10k loan each generation but you *must* pay it off before the next generation becomes YA. (You do not need to take out a loan at all. It is your choice. But there are rules if you do.)

Spoiler:

- *If you do not pay it off in your loan-taking generation (your children age up to YA*), the bank will charge a hefty interest.

You will then have to pay back 15k instead of only 10k. (For each 10k loan you do not pay back on time*, add 5k to the amount due the bank.

If you go two generations without paying you will own the bank 30k but wait! Remember for every 10k you have in loan, you will owe an additional 5k if you do not pay it back when due.
So if you have 30k in debt, you have interest of an additional 15k added to it. It adds up fast.

If you do not pay what is due the bank at all they will foreclose on your ranch and you will lose it when your Gen 10 firstborn is just a baby cutting your challenge short and it's game-over. So don't get too crazy. Bank's do not like being ignored.

If each loan IS paid back on time (before your generation's children become YA), you will not owe any interest. So 10k loan is paid on time, you pay back 10k, nothing more.*

There are three sections to this challenge with goals you can do in any order at any time before the youngest of Generation 10 becomes a teenager (or earlier if specified).

1. Build Your Ranch
You must have the following on your ranch built by the end of the challenge (Youngest of Gen 10 becomes teen). They can be built in any order and in any generation.

• Ranch House with:
  - 3 bedrooms (minimum)
  - an eat-in kitchen
  - dining room big enough to accommodate family reunions
  - 2 bathrooms in the house (minimum)
  - One 'mud room' near the back door so ranchers can take off their muddy boots, coats, hats etc. and not track their slop all over the house at dinner time.
  - 1 office in the home. Ranching is a tough business.
  - All other rooms are available at your own desire.
• Barn with:
  - Minimum of 4 horse stalls with bedding. You will be glad of the extra space when friends or family come to visit with their beloved horses.
  - A small competition room to store photos & trophies.
  - A tack room for saddles, bridles, horse/barn decor etc.
  - 1 outhouse for the ranchers near the fields and/or barn
  - Large horse pasture at/near the barn. At least 10x10
  - (Optional) Open loft in barn for relaxing and/or storage
  - (Optional) A dance area for, you know it, barn dances
• Greenhouse for:
  - You will need room for all of the different kinds of plants needed for nectar production. (potato/grape/strawberry etc.)
  - Fruit trees for nectar production can be inside the greenhouse or outside. Whatever works best for you.
• Nectar Cellar with storage and nectar making station(s). This can be built anywhere you want. Under the house/barn/greenhouse/alone/etc.
• 10x10 (minimum) Prairie Grass Field for harvesting. I recommend building this early.
• Cookout area (grill, seating, lights)
• Kid's Outside Play area (swings, monkey bars etc)
• (optional) Gazebo
• (optional) Animal and/or Human Graveyard(s)

2. Tasks
Just like the Build section you must have completed the following by the end of the challenge (Youngest of Gen 10 becomes teen). They can be done in any order and in any generation unless stated otherwise.

1. Max nectar making skill with at least one Sim
2. Max Horse Riding skill with at least two Sims
3. Train at least one horse to maximum level in all skills. Agility, Endurance etc.
4. Have three foals born on your ranch with Champion Bloodlines. (From a parent with maxed skills)
5. Have four sets of twins throughout the generations.
6. Raise a minimum of five mini goats and/or five mini sheep during one generation.
7. Six Sims throughout the generations must be ISBI from infancy-child. They can be controlled when they turn teen, not before. I suggest dressing them in a certain color, giving them an odd hair color/style or any other means to visually see that they are ISBI.
8. Take a seven-day vacation with everyone (Sim & Horses) at least once during the legacy. Minis and other farm animals can stay home.
9. Eight of your children (minimum) throughout the generations should be selected to display the Horse Lover trait.
10. There should be nine family reunions throughout the generations.
11. Get Ten gold medals from competing with your horse(s).
12. (Optional) Extra challenge: Try to get one gold medal in each of the competition types, Beginner-Master in Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing etc. Then place (1st, 2nd or 3rd) in the ultimate competition.

3. Wildcard Things (Optional)

• From Generation three onward, you may move to a new world/lot and start building your Ranch from scratch.
• Treat ALL offspring from Infant-Child as you would in an ISBI challenge. You may start controlling them again when they are teens.
• Create or collect a total of 100 bottles of Nectar before you can sell any of them.
• Choose one Sim from every generation that will Max their Horse Riding skill. (10 total Sims)
• Choose one Horse from every generation that will Max all of their skills. (10 total Horses)
