Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
So apparently EA is offering the entire collection free if you have/make an origin account and enter a discount code (redeemable until July 31st, details here). Has anybody taken advantage of this yet, or planning to? I don't own the full collection myself, so I'll definitely be looking into whether my laptop can handle running the full set.
Also, if anybody has done this and has tips/advice for transferring files from a physical copy over to it, please let me know.

Only available for PC
Why does EA hate me...
But if I ever do get a PC I know how it redeemed!

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I believe it says in the FAQ that people with physical copies should have a guide on how to get it, around (I believe) today. (Although people with physical copies only have already been getting it)
I already have them all installed, but I might just get it for an easy clean install I've been having trouble with simple and other third party apps and ugh I hope this fixes it.

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I have all of the CDs, didn't switch to digital until TS3 came out. But I would to have TS2 ultimate.
Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
Downloading it as we speak. I ony ever had base game and OFB and rarely played them, so quite looking forward to it. I think Sims 2 sims are super-ugly but I don't want to download a crazy amount of CC like with TS3 so might have to restrain myself to skins only
Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I'm definitely grabbing this!

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I've made myself an account and redeemed the free code. Haven't installed the game yet, though. Too lazy to uninstall my current games and then install the new collection. Especially given the possibility my laptop will not be able to handle it and I will have to reinstall my physical copies.

No problem, guys! Figured there might be a handful of people on Boolprop who hadn't heard about it yet.

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I think of switching to ultimate edition since mine doesn't recognize my graphics card properly...
Did anybody have the blocky water/blurry terrain problem yet?

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
I have that with my regular game, since I just have a basic integrated graphics card.

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
Yeah, I just tried out the Ultimate edition and I still have blocky water and 800x600 resolution...I mean, yeah, that game came out 10 years ago. And EA cancels tech support in about a week. Why the hell won't they update their own configs?!! It's not that hard, especially if you're the forkin' programmer of the game @@

Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
There is a solution for that hiding on MTS. That said, if your computer can't handle smooth neighbourhood textures, tweaking it might not be so good for it.Did anybody have the blocky water/blurry terrain problem yet?

Got it!
Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
With the ultimate collection, There is no bodyshop is disappointing, nor the sims2pack files, so it's unlikely that people can download sims and lots now.
Re: Sims 2 Ultimate Collection
So from what I understand, you can download (or whatever) the game now and install it later?
