If I get to the point of actually saying things to them rather than just thinking it, you know it's been a busy night of simming:
There was a situation not long ago where a toddler needed to be put in a crib or moved to where the toys were:
"YOU. Pick up the baby, and go HERE."
*goes off to check on the rest of the household, comes back and parent-sim has put the baby down again.
"Grrr.. OK. YES. Pick up the baby. GOOD.
*makes sure sim is still holding the toddler
"Now YOU... go HERE."
*goes away and comes back again after making the rounds, toddler is on the floor again.
"PICK. UP. THE. DAMN. BABY!"
Anything else is along the lines of:
"Good little man."
(I like when they read your mind about what to do next.)
"lady/dude/kid, go here."
"no, wait do X, then Y, THEN go here. Ok good."
(or to a toddler)
"No don't do that, go here."

Stop putting the toddler in the freaking high chair!
I mean it! You're going to make them fat!
I swear if you pick up that child...
He just ate!!!! Stahp!!!!!
Oh for the love of...
Grrrrrrrrrrr
and also...
He needs his diaper changed...
Diaper! Not food...change the diaper...
Good spouse! You got it and it only took two tries!
And also...
Why do you keep getting out of bed...
What on Earth...
Oh for...who turned on the freaking radio? I need to build a bedroom...
No! Leave the radio alone! Go to bed!
And...
Go away Vlad...I have a voodoo doll and I will use it!
(Best playtime ever btw...I had way too much fun torturing him with the doll...muahahaha)

I have the same weird, glitchy interraction between nannies(a certain nanny fo sho) and babies and toddlers in mine; it's almost as though they aren't programmed to do diapers or take them to the potty, even tho I KNOW that can't be true * gives side-eye to EA:
(checks on the baby & nanny to find trail of bottles all across the kitchen floor)
"What is that stupid nanny doing??"
*nanny continues to feed the baby bottles even tho it's wriggling around and screaming in a stinky green cloud.
"The baby doesn't need a bottle it needs it's damn diaper changed!"
*nanny goes and puts the baby back IN THE CRIB, stares at the screaming baby for a sim-minute or 2, picks it back up again. Feeds baby another bottle.
(face-palms)
"That stupid nanny is going to get social services called on this house!"
(What's worse is when you're completely powerless to do anything about the neglect because everyone else in the household is doing school or work ATM)
"Okay, WHEN does the next person come home- not until 6 p.m.?? Oh great.. "
"When THAT sim comes home, they're taking toddler to the damn training-potty. Hopefully. And then that nanny is getting fired."
(the next day sim-time, nobody will go to work because it means leaving the baby home alone)
"Oh shit, I forgot to hire ANOTHER nanny."

Not a bad idea. That's the thing I don't like about the TS2 babies at least, you can't tell, apart from when they shit themselves, what level of desperation they're at mood-wise. I wonder if it's in the nanny's programming to keep the baby out of that timeframe at least, where they're not neglected to the point that social services gets involved?dbars107 wrote:It is at this critical point that I panic... That's why I like TS4...toddlers and babies are now automatically sent to Daycare! Or you can hire a babysitter/nanny...but no more hassle about leaving kids home alone

Re: Things You've Said While Playing Sims
So, It's not so much something I said, but my sister said. She's not a hardcore simmer, but she's been playing as long as I have because when you're 14 and there is only one computer in the house, you can't keep your little sister from playing. But since she doesn't play as often, she's not used to some the idiosyncrasies and weird quirks that that games have. Thus I have a bunch of things she's randomly said.
So yesterday, she was playing and started yelling "WHY IS IT ON FIRE!?"
Apparently she didn't know birthday cakes could start a fire. She was not pleased and spent the rest of the evening complaining.

"Why are you running TOWARD the fire? NO! Stay away from the fire! Stop cancelling the "run away" action to run back to the fire! STOOOOOOP! OK, new sim, you stop putting out the furniture and put out your stupid sim-sibling, OK? No, stop extinguishing the stove and extinguish the SIM. OK, stop panicking about the fire, and beg with the Grim Reaper. No! Stop running toward the fire! Look, idiot, standing next to a fire to smell your armpits and complain that you stink is NOT HELPING THINGS!"
Oh, yes. Fires. Such fun.
