Share Your Favourite Lots!

Post by Heather »

Reviving my favourite kind of picture thread from the older versions of Boolprop, the lot-sharing thread. Could be an exterior or interior, and lot type does not matter. Download links are encouraged!

I'll start off with a picture of one of my most recent builds; a restaurant:

Favorite Lots FIXED 11-25-2017

Post by modelmgt »

My Hoods & Lots are thus:
I rounded up all of my favorite builds from my game.
For the most part this will all be new to Boolprop. I was finally able to find a way to get my wreck hood photos, so those have been added! :celebration:

STRANGETOWN/ LA FIESTA TECH
Spoiler:
You may or may not recall that I had to re-locate and rebuild the Curious house,
because of all of the glitchy things that were going on. Here's the result:

Image

Here is a shot of Mothership Grunt, where all the Grunt couples that come back from college go to start making alien offspring:
Image

Kitty Kookachoo's Fun-a-teria. Named after a cat that was owned by the original Freshnfruitys,
it's a place like Mr. Gatti's, Chuck E. Cheese, Pistol Pete's etc. where you can go and have fun, then eat off the buffet.

Image

Kitty Kookachoo's Interior shot, numbered areas indicate what is where:
Image

Insane Shane's Color Shockwave; a high-end hair salon specializing in crazy-ass day-glo dye-jobs:
Image

You've seen the Curious house, here's the custom-made Curious dorm,
for all of the Curious house (alien) young-adults moving on to college. Do you see the question marks?

Image

Spaceship Curious Interior shot, with another numbered guide:
Image

Spaceship Smith is (of course) for all of the Smith alien young-adults:
The layout is simple enough, I didn't think it required an interior shot.

Image

And the Fugly Dorm, for all of Myrna Fugly's illegitimate kids that she's had with Loki Beaker
The design concept is just a really messed-up square:

Image

And lastly, the Fugly Dorm interior shot, again with a numbered guide:
Image

ISLA DE COPIA/ FANTASY ISLAND
Spoiler:
Isla de Copia is my mansion 'hood and Fantasy Island is their Vacation spot.
Ah, every little girl's dream, at least when I was a kid.
The Karbie Dream House, with Karbie, Ben, Midge, Courtney, & Christie:

Image
The "dolls" close-up:
Image

A minimalist, super-modern marvel, the Kesson House,
with famous Photographer(in-game)Van Kesson and his foreign supermodel girlfriend, Katina Dijorn.
He had two teenagers(presumably from a previous relationship), but they've been shipped off to college.

Image

L'Extravagance Hotel(to be said with a snooty accent) is huge.
As the in-game description points out, why would you go on vacation just to sleep on the ground?
Here is the front door, where your limo from the airport or your yacht would drop you off:

Image

The ground floor of L' Extravagance Hotel:
Image

And for those wealthy sims who DO see the novelty of "roughing it"
There's Fantasy Village. It's a primitive village that's been found, and given bare modern amenities, such as toilets, showers, and plush first-rate beds.
But unless you go elsewhere, you still catch and cook your own food, and there's no electricity.

Image
ELVENFIRE/VILLAGE OF WOLFSBANE
Spoiler:
Elvenfire is a "good" neighborhood cursed to eternal winter.
The Village of Wolfsbane is the "evil" downtown hood, cursed to the same.
*Pardon any grid-lines as some of these weren't taken in actual daytime, or the snow obscured too many things. :cover:  :duh:

The Garden Elves' home.
Each elf is named after and has a look relating to what plant they specialize in.

Image

The Satyr & Nymph Retreat.
Interesting note: Before the winter's curse hit town, they did not need shelters.

Image

Fairy Haven exists on it's own small offshore island.
The same curse that brought eternal winter also turned all of the fairies to stone, rendering it into just a pretty park.

Image

The Fortress of the Evil Sorceress Nadine. :brrr:
Sorceress Nadine lives alone, except for her husband who she turned into a cat.
She is the one who cast the winter's curse, inconveniencing the he** out of the Fishing Elves:

Image

The Cemetery of the Restless Souls is one of 3 Cemeteries in The Village of Wolfsbane, it's also the home of Zed the Zombie-Master.
Each contains 8 zombies based on real-life people, who I wouldn't wish on anyone, their last names relating to their sin which got them there.
Fun Fact: When I didn't know their clothing-style, the people died in their work uniforms. hence, the red & khaki.

Image

Mare's Hollow Square.
Situated in the center of this small village, the square contains a few rundown shops which carry supplies basic to the dark arts.
In case the text doesn't show, these are a pet store, a spellbook shop, and a clothing store.

Image

Sweeny's Barber Shop.
Where else does a resident in the evil neighborhood go to get a haircut?
:diablo:
Image

BIG FART POND/ISLAND OF NO RETURN
Spoiler:
Big Fart Pond is my wreck neigborhood and The Island of No Return is their college 'hood. Cheery-sounding place, I know. Buh-bye!

Here is an over-head shot of BFP, with a guide to who and what is where: V V
Image

An over-head shot of Buddy's Bed Barn + a little of the interior.
What's so "wreck-hood" about a bed store, you ask? Because sims treat the beds like their own beds at home, and sometimes will shoo the cashiers out of the store to do. . certain interactions.
This idea brought to you by the toilet store(see map).
Image
First residential lot on the list happens to be the house of Polly Prissypants, and her 2 fluffy white cats, Mr. Tinkles and Kitty Bang-Bang. V V
All three of them subsist on a diet of desserts only.
:cookie: :donut: :pie:
(exterior)
Image

Here is the interior shot of the same house; Polly likely doesn't realize how lucky she is to have a livable house for this scenario.
I wanted to see just how far I could push sacharine-sweet. What does it look like to push it into over-kill? Now you know.

I think I may be diabetic after this. j/k Pinks, whites, and florals are SO not my usual style.
Image

Last stop at the Prissypants house is a close-up of Polly, Mr. Tinkles and Kitty Bang-Bang.
At one point I intended to start breeding these white cats, but not surprisingly I haven't played this house much.

Image
Next is Jimmy Jungle's House, which he shares with Amin Sims(now Amin Jungle).
This lot has recently had a bit of a makeover, with all of the plants and gorillas.

Image

A nice dual close-up of Amin & Jimmy. Amin had his makeover a long time ago. He sleeps in a merman's tail.
Image

This first college lot is for any Phish kids that have to get shipped off to INR. You'll notice that it resembles their home lot.
Image

The Shoe Dorm is (naturally) where all of Old Woman and William Shoe's adopted kids wound up.
The high heels are the girls' dorms(4) and the one big brown "dress shoe" is the boys' dorms (4). The red sneaker is the cafeteria.

Image

The Boxer-Breath Dorm was one of the first custom dorms I built if not THE first.
Bet you can't tell where the actual dorm rooms are! No matter what room you get, there's going to be an obnoxiously-long hallway to take there.
Image

The Eyefull Dorm (which I just realized sounds like Eiffel) is where the Eyefull kids will go.
They are like a normal family, with a normal house(which breaks wreck-hood rules in & of itself) but they started out with eyes as big as I could make them without punching holes in the sides of their faces with the corners.
Do ya ever feel like you're being watched?

Your lot's are cute :D Very creative and colourfull, even though I doubt their usefullness in some cases.
I especially love your make over of the Curious-House! Very pretty.

But-but-but-but! Have you ever thought of using a thrid party programme to make your screens? It will increase the quality of the images drastically. I can suggest Bandicam, easy to use, easy to install and it has a free version.

Thank you. :)

And I like the layout of your house! I have the hardest time building legacy houses. I'm okay with building an entire house at once, but having to plan ahead to make sure the house looks good once it's fully built is a pain.

Everyone's lots are so pretty :starry:

Chase that apoca-house looks gorgeous, and yeah same question as Model about the green house.

As for my own lot, Its currently a work in progress (it's in the spoiler below), but when it's done it'll probably be the simself lot for the two legacies I have planned. The floorplan is based off of one I found on Houseplans.com

:awesome: There are 2 NEW builds in Big Fart Pond(the wreck 'hood), and boy are they special! :awesome:
UPDATE 7-4-2015: Spectre House Shots are now added, making this post a total of 3 builds.

First up:
I finally compromised on the whole not-giving-them-showers-or-tubs thing and made a community lot where they can go and get a shower, but they have to do it in bright, bare-assed full-public view, in front of everyone. :rotfl:
Introducing "The Shower Stop"! Do you see the faucet? vv
Showers are on the inside and the outside.
Spoiler:
Image
Second Build:
*WARNING* This build may not be for you if you are sensitive about racial/cultural jabs. Don't say I didn't warn you. :nono:
This is a neighborhood for wrecking games and experimental concepts, where the inappropriate is VERY appropriate!
On the map for BFP was a "pet store" called Val-U-Vern's.
It consisted of an awning for the 2 cashiers, the cat and dog bins, and some collar displays, basically a half-arsed build.
Image
(This map was made pre- Shower Stop days)
The pet store has needed a better(or worse) concept from day 1, and here it is:
Spoiler:
"The Racist Chinese Restaurant Pet Store", which LOOKS like a restaurant, but 'weirdly, does not serve Chinese food.' as the lot's description goes.
I'm aware that it's fronting as a Chinese restaurant, but in my quest to be REALLY obnoxious about the Asian element, there may be bits of Japanese and Thai in the decor or building. Not convinced yet? Go inside . . . . :shifty:
#1: The Exterior - The only hint that something is odd about this "restaurant" is the bronze dog & cat statues flanking the front door. vv
Image
#2: Front Entryway - vv
Image

#3: The Tea and Sake Room(yes in a pet store) Just go around the right side of the shoji wall. vv
Image

#4: The hallway to the "restaurant" kitchen Keep going left (past the tea room). vv
The kitchen is non-functioning(no stove or other appliances); oh look, you can buy a dragon statue . . . :shifty:
Image

#5: The Pet Enclosure Yes, all that inspired by a dumb old racist joke.
I promise I'm not actually racist. But it was such a good concept for BFP. So good, yet SO WRONG . . . vv
Image
The Spectre House: For those of you curious about how your advice(in chat) turned out. Thanks! :applause:

First, the house itself was remodeled on the inside to make room for more people. I wanted to keep the shape of the exterior intact.
SPECTRE HOUSE EXTERIOR:
Spoiler:
#1: A wide view of the front of the lot.
The windows on the front side of the house have been changed out for ones that are both proportionally
and aesthetically better. The yard has also been noticeably spruced up and is home to two cleaning bots.
The front walk is home to 3 Sentry-bots, because their paper keeps getting stolen. V V
Image

#2: Here's a closeup shot of the facade of the Spectre House: V V
Image

#3: The rear of the house has also had some changes: V V
Image

SPECTRE HOUSE INTERIOR
Spoiler:
#1: A general layout of the big first floor remodel.
All of the original wall sconces were replaced with candle-bearing ones, and the ceiling fixtures were also replaced with the same.
There is not much that's the same inside this house, post-remodel. V V
Image
Yes, they have a cat named Thadeus II. There is no Thadeus I. :D

#2: Here is the basement layout.
This house didn't have a basement previously. V V
Image
Anise Thetic has built the house's first Servo from the Robot-Building station in her room. His name is Auto-Lurch 9000. 8-)

#3: Here is the first shot of the first floor, on the side of the house nearest the front gate. V V
Image

#4: Here is a second angle of the first floor, on the side of the lot nearest the piano in the yard.
(Opposite the gate) V V
Image

#5: And finally, a shot of the first floor from the rear of the house.
The bird is an African Grey named Gildabreath.
Image
And lastly, a few shots of all of the sims that are living there now!(Sans Thadeus II)
Spoiler:
#1: A shot of all residents in their Everyday clothes: V V
Anise & Sopa are the ones that got sent off to college to get the Paranormal Career, the rest were cheated into it with the Tombstone of L & D. :highfive:
Image
In the order they're numbered: Anise Thetic & Sopa Thetic, (Olive Spectre in the center) Eula G. Wraith, Effie G. Wraith and Faye Tahl.

#2: Now a shot of all 5 girls in their Exorcist gear. :shifty: V V
They kept changing back to human before I could get a shot like this of them as werewolves.
I made up for it as best I could in the shots after this. :)
Image

#3: Sopa, Effie, Faye(not numbered) & Eula: Werewolf Exorcists! V V
Anise made friends with my werewolf family there, and then the rest fell like dominoes. :ghost:
Image

#4: Effie, Anise, & Sopa: WE Shot # 2. V V
Image
They like to hear each other howl, and want to make more werewolves.
