Can Sims Get S.A.D.? (Seasonal Affected Disorder)

Post by Ani-Mei »

Most recently in my Monster Mash challenge, two of my Ghosts are suddenly dropping into the Red when they have only positive moodlets in their panels and for no reason too. I can fix it only temporarily with a NRAAS reset of them but it comes back. The season is Winter so I was wondering if this is part of the game mechanics that I have never seen because I usually turn Winter off or if it's a glitch. Also my Ghost-Fairy hybrid heir suddenly reverted to being Human after his Adult birthday. Did I break him with my manual aging to get through his Ghost immortality? :guilty:

No, neither of them had any weather related traits, as ghosts they don't feel hot or cold. Their panel was filled with only positive moodlets so I don't understand why they were dropping into the red when the panel is all green. It's still happening now that my Ghost-Fairy hybrid heir is now an ordinary human ( I did nothing to change his occult status so I have to assume it was the game correcting the glitch).

They are probably just glitched

This sounds a little like the noisy sim problem that I used to have - nobody in the house could sleep because they were omitting a noise at night
resetting didn't fix it - i ended up saving the sim to my bin and making a new copy of him :( which is not good when you lose all there skills ect

Maybe, but you can always put the skills back with NRAAS. I figure he'll work it out eventually and hopefully not drop into the red when he needs a good mood to get the promotion he needs for his LTW. Or at least until after he gets it then he can be as red as he wants to be.

Since you are using nraas, maybe you could check the red sim's moodlets with MC? Maybe there's a red moodlet affecting them that is hidden in normal view?

I'd suggest a hard reset using MC, moving him in and out of the house; if neither fixes him, then itsjulie's suggestion is probably the only option left, replacing the sim through the bin.

To chime in, it's possible that this could be fixed if maybe you evicted the household and put them back in?

If not I would try a new town to see if it's persisting into other files. I think you've found yourself a bug, because I've never had or seen this happen before.

Sorry guys, I didn't see this for like a year...my ghost-fairy Sims never recovered they are long dead now in game and I figured it was probably for the best anyway. Also I noticed they all had the Supernatural Fan trait so my newest heirs don't have it and nothing has gone wrong with them They're also aliens and the alien occult does not play nice with other occults without mods to make them.
