I play on Windows 10, haven't had any issues with it, I think you'll be fine.

Same here! The only issues I've had with TS3 are Origin based :P

I'm sure I'm not adding much at this point, but I also play on Windows 10 with no trouble!

I was worried about this too, my new gaming laptop has Windows 10 but I didn't install Sims 3 through Origin. I have an external CD drive and I installed all the Sims 3 EP's and SP's from the discs, except Pets and the Katy Perry thing. It works beautifully on Windows 10, it's great.

How has One Drive been messing with your Sims? I have that too and I always close it before I open Sims 3. I also use an external CD drive so my BitDefender always has to scan it, I close it too otherwise it will not let the game load if it's still doing whatever it does.

It was causing the part loading problem for me.
only part of my cc and especially store stuff was loading - and it was very random - sometimes i had to crash and restart my game quite a few times because half of my file content was missing.

When you first get windows 10 - they give you a tonne of space (enough to hold your whole sims3 game folder)
then they just cut it down to a pathetic amount and you have to pay to get more .... this is when my problem started
One Drive picks and choises which bits of your sims folder it holds so it was constantly messing with my game.

When I realised that was the problem i disabled it
However
EVERYTIME I get a windows 10 update it turns One Drive back on and it messes with my games folder before I even get to open the game.
The last time - it actually deleted part of my sims folder and i was getting no saved games and only 5 worlds loading for me to play
I had to copy the game folder from documents and replace it with what was in One Drive - just to play my game properly even after I had disabled One Drive AGAIN

It is seriously annoying me :fisty:

Ugh, I hate One Drive. It's gotten to the point that I just don't log into Microsoft at all on my computer anymore. Office works perfectly fine when logged out, and Google Drive holds all the docs I want to keep in the cloud. Keep the backups on a physical drive, instead of a cloud one, that seems to be the easiest solution.

Is One Drive a Windows 10 thing or a Microsoft Office thing? Because I don't think I have it on my computer at the moment, but I'm about to build myself a new one and install Windows 10 and don't want to inadvertently give myself this problem!

I use Apache Open Office instead of Microsoft.

I just unlinked my laptop from this One Drive thing, hopefully it stays that way.

It had worked, and now it doesn't. Thank you, Windows 10 update. Why can't we just opt out of the updates? WHYYYY?

You can. I turned mine off because it was seriously annoying me and it made my laptop forget it had a graphics card.
