Phenomenally lovely work!! :starry:
Once I'm on my simming computer, this is happening.
You said that you take requests? I'm facing those famously hideous Strangtown community lots just... I'd love to be able to have your makeovers for my game!! I adore your style

Thank you! I can maybe take a look at the Strangetown lots and see if there's a way to pretty them up. I usually just build from scratch though; maxis lots are generally atrocious.

Thank you! Glad to hear you like them. :]

I've played around with the 'abandoned government facility' community in ST, and it's just as ridiculous as I expected. I found a trashcan on an inaccessible roof. Here's how it looks at the moment:
Still a WIP; I'll post more pictures when it is finished.

Oh I just stumbled back to this thread because I'm starting a new 'hood and your lots instantly came to mind.
THAT LOT MAKEOVER IS LOOKING SO AHMAZING THOUGH thank you for giving it a go despite it's absolutely ludicrous design.

I'm glad you like it! I actually completely forgot about it until I saw this thread had a new post, haha.
And if you're interested in new lots I have posted some download links for two of my Let's Build It entries, if you want to check those out.

Oh, my Plumbob, they surely are! I remember just screeching with outrage (fortunately alone, at the time), when I finally saved up enough Magic Coins to move my family into the big magic lot in magic-town, only to find that the house was unlivable for my family.
The master bedroom wouldn't fit a double-bed. Well, you could fit a double bed, but only one sim could have access to it.
Oodles of un-usable space, blocked by stairs, doors, windows, and the like, or too narrow for what was needed. I'm OK with a long and narrow bedroom, so long as it's not TOO narrow, and long enough to fit a bed, dresser, and mirror in there. Master bedroom, indeed!
I don't know how many times I have had to gut and re-do a maxis house, once I moved in, and just kaching the money back, and tell myself "It's not cheating. It's fixing THEIR mistake!"
Frankly, as much as my big-box houses bore me, I still prefer them to maxis-made. Maxis-made houses may look nice, but I swear they have never play-tested them, and I do value utility above all.
By the way, Heather, your houses look lovely, and they also look livable. Do you play-test before you post?

And functionality aside, they just look atrocious, too.
It usually takes me a while to post my lots, so they're often tested out with my own sims before they get posted, but sometimes they go straight from being built to being posted on my tumblr. I find that with 7 years of playing the game, I have a fairly good idea of what will actually be functional (though occasionally I have to tweak lots or remove some items). I do have a few lots that are purely meant to be photographed, and I don't tend to release those.
The biggest problem I have with building lots is remembering to include a phone or fire alarm, actually.

Thanks Chase!
I've updated the first post with 12 lots from the past few months, but I'll try to get all of the lots I've released this year in there eventually. From this point on, I'll make a new post with larger images for each new month's lots.

I always see your building as the best! Kind of like your plan of updating once a month! Since I personally get intimidated by tumblr (hopefully that will change). Definetly taking the Flirty Flamingo for at least one of my challenges!

Thanks Bouncer! I'll definitely try to keep this thread more active; I post a lot of non-building related stuff on my sims tumblr, so it's nice to have somewhere to keep all my downloads.

Another pretty lot!
And the interior shots look great, too. Too bad it can't function as a real restaurant. The booths look cozy.
