Okay so it was late at night when I saw this, so I was freaked out...

The flying pig! I think I first noticed it sometime last year, myself.

I think putting down the big Sims 2 water tower is what causes it to appear and drift about your neighbourhood, kind of like an Easter Egg

Ah thank you, guys. Yeah I saw it at night so it terrified me, I know what I'm doing soon as I get back into neighborhood mode.

It is the water tower. You put one in and you get th runaway pig balloon. It's kinda funny actually, you also put down that Stonehenge decoration and you get alien ships coming by to check it out too. Same with the crashed alien ship decor. Give it a try to see for yourself, freaked me out the first time I saw two of them in the air.

Omg, I remember when that easter egg first got put into the game!
Everybody was freaking out about how it meant disaster and that your game was about to go up in flames! Doomsday pigs for everybody!

I never knew that about the ruins/crash site! Then again I rarely use those pieces of deco. Will have to check that out.

LOL, if only the flying pig was an early indicator of neighbourhood doom! I'd rather see that and know to prepare myself instead of encountering toddler LTWs and headless Sims -.-;

Wasn't there one other piece of decor that did that? Like the radio control tower of something? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong...

Not sure but those are the only two I had placed when I saw the ships.

It's the radio tower that spawns UFO's, and I think the crashed UFO too. But stonehenge is "just" pretty.

Also if I remember correctly if you have the nuclear power plant, the UFOs will send beams down to it or something like that?

It's things like that that make me miss playing the sims 2! xD

As far as I remember, when you have the baloon, you can see TS1 Bella and that Lothario Clone from TS1 standing in the gondola.
