From the Ground Up: A Towering Legacy -- 18th October '14

Hi there!

Recently, I've been working on a twist on the legacy challenge. We're raising a family, and a building, one generation at time, on a small scale! It's lots of chaotic, cramped up fun! You'll find the current ruleset here, if you're interested.

For now, it's plot-less and fun, which is a wonderful break from the hard work of my plotty legacy. At the moment, I only intend to play up to generation five, but I'm started to want to play for longer. So we'll see how that plays out!

Right, enough babble - let's get started!

Generation One: Aurora Stone
Chapter 1: Clowning Around
Chapter 2: A Playful Bunch
Chapter 3: You Only Date Twice

Generation Two: Jazz Stone
Chapter 4: Sun, Sand and Romance
Chapter 5: The Hula Invasion
Chapter 6: Nothing is Simple
Chapter 7: Belle Stone and Friends
Chapter 8: Raising a Riot

Generation Three: Poppy Stone
Chapter 9: Love Lessons
Chapter 10: Are We Done Yet?
Chapter 11: Chaos and Kids
Chapter 12: My Sweet Cheesecake *new*

Extras
Download a Stone
My score, for anyone who's interested:
(Updated to where I've played to, may contain spoilers)
Spoiler:
+2 for Jazz’s birth
+2 for Cube’s birth
+2 for Beat’s birth
+10 for the 2nd Floor
+2 for Grace
+2 for Poppy’s birth
+10 for the 3rd Floor
+2 for Grace’s grave
+2 for Aurora’s grave
+2 for Bluebell’s birth
+2 for Fern’s birth
+2 for Dash
+2 for Dorian's grave
+2 for obtaining a gypsy lamp
+5 for Poppy graduating
+2 for Jazz being permaplat
+2 for Jim being permaplat
+2 for Leela's birth
+2 for Johnny's birth
+10 for the 4th floor
+2 for Tina's birth
+2 for Steve's birth
+2 for DeeDee's birth
+2 for Dash's grave
+2 for Courage's birth

= 77 points!

:haha: I've managed to read the all nine chapters in one sitting. One word to describe what I think of this legacy challenge so far....
Spoiler:
AWESOME!!!!  My favorite is Aurora and Dorian so far. I love his many funny expression and Aurora's personality. They made a great founding pair. I love Jazz as she was growing up but I was really really disappointed in her when she had the affair. She completely lost me and I've never recovered from it. For me, an affair is a huge turn off. :diablo: But it was an interesting read. I feel so bad for Jim and could understand why he went insane. Fern is so lucky because her stepfather cares for her. I can't wait to see the group in college. Those profressors and students doesn't know what's hitting them. :rotfl:
Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the next update.

Wow, go you! Nine chapters is a lot!
Spoiler:
I'm so glad you like it! :bounce: It's a lot of fun to play. Aurora and Dorian were amazing, and I loved his expressions. It was sad seeing them go. As for Jazz, I still have a soft spot for her :) The reason I had her cheat is purely selfish, really - I want Zeeshan for the generation spouse, and she wanted Jim. I really wanted to see what kind of babies Zeeshan throws, which turned out to be terrible for the family! I'm glad it was interesting all the same.

I'm loving this group at the minute, hopefully I'll have an update soon!
Thank you so much!

It's nice to see Poppy and all her siblings and cousins settle neatly into college. And I'm sure the arcade machine is grateful. ;)

Spoiler:
Oh cool this legacy is back! Glad Poppy and everyone have settled into college life.
I can't install Nighlife anymore which saddens me. I always did like that expansion.
That's an awesome set of photos Poppy and Samuel have there.
It always cracks me up when the sims you would think should be poor/have nothing always leave the most expensive date gifts.
Looking forward to seeing the next gen and for some more cramped tower living!

Keika:
Spoiler:
That arcade machine had a whale of a time!
Miri:
Spoiler:
It took me awhile to play college
It's possibly one of my favourites, though I don't visit Downtown very often.
It's the best photobooth picture I've ever had  I'm definitely hanging it in the tower
It must be why they're poor when you eventually move them in, right? :)
I'm so excited to meet the next generation! Hopefully it won't be too long!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have an update!

You can really see both of her parents in Poppy! She's a good mix of them both. I've spent my afternoon reading the legacy, I've never seen a towering legacy before so I love the idea! I can't wait to see more :)

I was quite pleased with how much of each parent is in Poppy :) Aw, I'm glad you like it! It's definitely been fun to play! Thanks for your comment!

I do! I want an update! :bounce:
Spoiler:
Nope. You are never going to be rid of the hula.

Ever.

I find it interesting that the Romance grandparents are better at parenting than the Pleasures. ^^ Of course, Romancers do make pretty good parents, sometimes, so I really shouldn't be surprised.

Everyone is so cute, and doing so many cute things! Overload! Overload! ;)

Bad Jazz! No wishing for your son-in-law! Dirty old woman.

Here's hoping one of the 6 gets Poppy's eyes! Good update! :D

Leela is cute! I love that you gave her the purple hair. Also Tina, one of my favourite characters in Bob's Burgers. I hope she's gets the awkward-styled personality... uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

Keika:
Spoiler:
Nor the "Hang Loose" interaction either, apparently. :)

I think I may have give Jim "Family" as a secondary, because he's always been good with the kids. But I have no idea why Pleasure sims suck at it! Maybe they're just too easily distracted or something.

They are a very cute bunch this generation!

She hasn't acted on it yet, but I do have to keep an eye on her - I reckon if Jim dies first she'll go for it. Which would be a disaster.

Well, I've got 4 out of 6 kids in game so far, and two more to go! Someone HAS to get the bug eyes!
Nichola:
Spoiler:
I just had to give her purple hair :D It also gives me an excuse to use that hair I downloaded aaages ago. And I love Tina! Too bad Sim!Tina doesn't seem quite as awkward

Thanks guys!

Spoiler:
Leela is cute and aww you gave her purple hair. Coolness. I used to love Futurama. Isn't picking out name themes fun?
Tower living is wild. Does it ever feel like your ISBI challenge? :pan:
Bad Jazz having inappropriate thoughts. Hopefully she doesn't act on those.
I mean I know drama seems to happen a lot in your families, but really we don't need that added on to the rest of the insanity.
I look forward to more!

I couldn't not give her purple hair :D I love choosing a them :)

A little bit! Everyone's living on top of each and they're always in the way, no matter what! Could you imagine an ISBI Tower challenge?
Fingers crossed!
It's not *too* bad here, I think. Maybe!
Thanks! Hopefully it won't disappoint!

NO TWINS FOR YOU!!
Spoiler:
That's why I have the Trips and Quads hack, if I want twins I get twins. I guess it overrides the full house capacity sensing thing that trying to use cheesecake sends out. Or maybe it just doesn't like the UC. Dunno. :eyebrow: Nice chappie otherwise, despite being cheated out of twins.

Re-read all the chapters, and now my Mom might think I've gone nuts, because I've been going between snorts and full-bloomed cackles the whole time. Are you still continuing this? Please say you are. *hides pointy stick behind back*

How could I miss that this was posted at boolprop? I've been reading it over at LiveJournal, or wherever it was. I can't remember right now.

Anyway, YAY! It's at boolprop!

This is a really fun story, and I love seeing this family progress.

I just started reading this, and I'm getting the most wonderfull and nostalgic flashbacks to TS2-Exchange times :) Only that the quality of the pictures and the photographing is better.
Please please please continue anytime soon, and would you mind uploading your founder somewhere? Her face is so pretty!

Edit: Oh, I just noticed how futile my request is since you already uploaded her. Curse you, tiny screen! And bless you
