With Sims 4 I have found they get abducted if they spend a lot of time with the telescope and possibly the rocket ship. Most of my abductions are due to leveling logic. None were in the Science career or had the satellite dish. Just lots of telescope and working on the rocket ship.

I just found out about the plant sim ice cream thing. OMG!!

Good luck!

The challenge ends as soon as you have a black sheep who is at least five (or all three available in TS4 - will go into more detail about this later) of the supernatural life states at once.

This isn't even possible in Sims 3. I have only had hybrids (3+ life states) with Nraas Hybrid mod. I have seen any number of two supernatural states at once, but nothing more. I would think the better way of putting it would be to have a black sheep who has been five (or more) different life states before death?

Jenn can you elaborate on that a bit more? As in, they're one life-state and cured then another life-state or?

I've not played TS3 in ages I'm afraid

That sounds too easy since you can do that in Alchemy in one generation (well, the 2nd considering the first does not count).

Sims 3 Hybrid

Vampire-Imaginary Friend-Ghost
So far the most complex hybrid available, same as a Ghost with vampire characteristics and the ability to turn into a doll, can only be made if a vampire and an imaginary friend have a hybrid baby and dies and gets resurrected through the OH, My Ghost! opportunity or a Sim who has already completed the opportunity and gained the ability to bring a Sim back at the science lab.

I really only see the alchemy station/elixir consignment store as the only option. Maybe have several sims become one of the available hybrids until all possibilities have been checked off?

Hmmm okay, well if thats the only route available to get the most complicated hybrid possible I think we'll definitely need to think about how to improve our TS3 version. An entire family of supernaturals might be interesting though. Image

Looking through my old photos once I realized I missed the Let's Build It Vampire round... I realized that I've actually had a hybrid before! I didn't know he was one because at the time I had just started playing Sims 3 and I assumed it was what ghosts did, but here he is my first true vamp/ghost hybrid:

You can just tell by the color. Vamp ghosts are always that dark red I get them all the time.

He was born like that, he wasn't an actual vampire who died, his father was and his mother was one of his lovers.

I really want to do this challenge but as a sims 3 player - like Jenn said it is pretty impossible.
if you are expecting us to have a hybrid with every (or 5) life states its not happening!!

since supernatural ive spent years trying to mix lifes states and some just wont mix with anything - like genie i have not got working with any other life state especially witch and fairy because it messes with the magic.

without mods at most I have only ever had a 3 life state working hybrid - and it has taken 100's of babies just to get one

a plant / fairy / witch
Spoiler:

and also

a plant / fairy / werewolf

Image
It is hard enough to get a hybrid of 2 life states in sims 3 without mods
(not counting ghosts because that is an easy life state to mix with anything - especially if you let you occult sim or hybrid die then resurrect it - job done in two generations)

So if I try this - can I just aim for a 2 or 3 life state hybrid because i doubt anything else is possible!!

Unless for TS3 your family and heirs have to work through every occult state which would make it a lot of generations long.

Yes definitely! I'm a Sims 2 player predominantly and mainly made the rules with Heather (who is also predominantly a Sims 2 player). I'll edit the rules to reflect Sims 3. :)

If anyone who has Sims 4 wants to help with it, please do. Sims 4 is still like £49.99 and I can't justiyfy £50 on a base game just yet. That's my groceries for three weeks

Thai, there is a huge sale on Origin going on. I think I saw Sims 4 for $19,99 and all the expansions are 50% off.

I only know of Vampires, aliens and ghosts in Sims 4. The ghosts are like Sims 2, they cannot breed. Even the Plant Sim is a temporary moodlet from a food item.

Vampire-Sim - if two sims have a baby on a lot with the On A Dark Ley Line trait active, there is a chance a vampire baby could be born.
Alien Sim - Human and alien woohoo
Alien Ghost - only by having an alien die.
Alien-Vampire- can only be gotten if a male pregnant alien gets bitten during pregnancy. There is a small chance the child will be born a hybrid.

* +5 points for every toddler skill your black sheep learns. (TS2)
How come this is only for Sims 2?
Sims 3 has walk, talk, potty, xylophone, and peg box. SIms 4 has FIVE skills and four of them go to level 5.

LOL I just figure it was overlooked, Heather. Thanks for editing it, Thai!

I have my goals for the challenge and the blog, now to just get a sim and start playing this.

Quick question, I know it says "no service sims allowed" but is the exterminator excluded from this? I hired one without thinking, as I didn't want endless amounts of flu, so I guess I thought I'd double check whether I definitely have or haven't broken the rules.

Additionally, I'm attempting the Graveyard Smash, does it matter if the ghosts can't roam freely? Mine are currently cut off from the house by a moat in the corner of the lot.

i would say the exterminator doesn't count but like with any challenge it's not a big deal if you accidentally break a rule! just don't do it again/acknowledge you did it :)

and i don't think we made any rules against that! so I'd say it's fine :)

I'm going to allow the exterminator then! Thanks for your replies! :)

One more question:
For the Allotment Chic, if I run out of fresh food during the winter when I can't grow anymore, is it okay to just order pizza/Chinese food? Or do I fail the mini challenge as I didn't grow enough produce?

i think part of the challenge of Allotment Chic is to manage even through winter. If you like, feel free to rearrange the seasons (ofc still including all four of them) so you can have the time to get the money to build a greenhouse - maybe set it so Winter is first and you can use your fridge until it's empty and you can set up a greenhouse? if your sims are literally about to die I'd say order food in but you will have probably failed the mini challenge. Doesn't mean you wouldn't get the medal at the end of the whole challenge! you just dont get the extra points (which are meaningless in the long run anyway  )
