OWBC - My single founder is going to go to the Downtown, to meet some people, with the intention of falling in love, and being married to that unknown guy, of course. That's because she needs 3 children + 1 (who would become a PlantSim) if possible, and the clock is ticking, now that she has everything necessary to live decently except Robot Making Station, and covered floors and walls. Also, I remembered now, so note to myself - to throw another party.

I got tired of all the remaking, so I decided to playtest a Sim Survival Challenge idea that I've been idly working on. I'll post the rules at some later point, but it should be pretty simple. The goal is for it to take 5-10 sim days for your sims to "get off the island," and the only things that the challenge needs should be Bon Voyage and Seasons.

So far my sims are covered in green stink clouds, but not starving.

Rogue had three boys in what was supposed to be a matriarch OWBC! Blargh!
Her cousin, Cyan, had twin girls! Double blargh!

I started running a BACC, (Nepheris style) some time ago actually. So far, I have 13 adult playables, and six kids, with three more on the way. I'm also extremely close to unlocking all the architect restrictions (the architect is on level 7) and not too far from finishing the politics career track.

I'm on the third season and I think everyone is (almost) all set to get into their careers, since fortunately I've mostly gotten careers that can be unlocked with a population of less than 100.

I played my BACC the other day and Katriona Fraser gave birth to another kid and then ended the week by getting pregnant again. I'm aiming to have her and her husband have 10 kids because I don't think I've ever completed that want (or it's been a very long time if I have) and the major population boost from 10 kids will be nice. Also, they make cute kids. They're at 5 kids so far and I'm hoping for at least one more set of twins so that they have their 10 babies sooner.

I am playing the Trailer Park Challenge. My Pleasure female founder married a Romance female who brought on $1000. Her inventory held a floor lamp, cheap TV, flamingos, and a Bearly Butts chair. We placed the chair.

I built the trailer with no kachings, and the only furniture I could afford after the required tub, toilet, counters, fridge and sink was a cheap double bed. That chair came in very handy. The first yard sale earned $2693, and we haven't had a second one, yet.

I decided to go for the 10 point bonus for no Sims employed and they subsisted on money gained from deleting date flowers and cards. (I had to remove Pescado's AL fix package, because it broke card delivery.)

Both women had two pregnancies (4 baby daddies). The first babies were born during the wedding party. There are 5 sons, now. Three Knowledge teens and two children. Founder spawned a plantsim baby who just grew up and moved out. I considered having her stay a plantsim and spawn more babies for points, but I didn't want her photo booth pic to show her as a plantsim.

Now, she is writing Restaurant Guides (she sold two so far). This is a loophole in the rules, and I am not sure how I feel about it. They raised 5 kids with no cribs and only two chairs in the house. Life was very hard that first year. They stock the fridge with fish caught on the lot and harvested crops (am trying for the no groceries purchased and only one fridge purchased bonus). Right now, there are three beds in the house for 7 people.

I have been through 4 or 5 energizers. Will need to start working on adopting stray dogs, soon. Dating for bouquet money is tedious, so I might just keep writing Restaurant Guides.

The traffic jams in the bathroom are the worst.

It's a great challenge. My founding couple have 3 bolts for each other. I love that they constantly seek each other out for affection and socialization.

MaxiBuckle you are FAR more ambitious than I am with the Trailer Park Challenge. I couldn't do the no jobs/no groceries thing, I just couldn't. I also didn't realize that restaurant guides were a loophole, but I prob wouldn't use that loophole anyway. Sounds like you're doing great in your challenge so far though! (You're not wrong though- the traffic jams to the bathroom are legitly the worse, especially when all of your sims are so playful they'll just play in the tub while their sibling pees themselves outside.)

Currently in the Silver Valley Trailer Park i'm just trying to get the teens through these years. It looks like Jean won the poll so I'm not stuck with a psycho ginger who talks to teddy bears all day as my heir. I'll probably set him up with his own toy store when he moves out. I need to find Jean a pretty wife that'll bring in plenty of dough for another trailer, I'm gonna aim for those wedding birth points with her.

Lorin, I kept thinking of you and Nemo with the Dates and Outings. It is still a grind. I have not gotten the hang of Outings, yet. Spores of Happiness rule, though.

Oddcatlady, the computer broke after two restaurant guides and I don't have money to replace it. Maybe I should have saved it for the novel. This challenge is a blast to play!

Here are my heir choices:
Image
Bourne, a Fortune Sim

Image
Dandy Lion, a Romance Sim

I need to put them up for the heir vote. Either is fine with me. I suspect people will go for Dandy Lion because he is prettier. Frankly, I think it would be much easier to play him than to play a Fortune Sim in a poverty challenge. The good thing about Bourne is my founder gave birth to him, and the spouse gave birth to his step brother. Both are eligible for heir in this challenge. Poll Here

Here are my founder and her sweetie, Care and Ivy Free (Care has the dark hair):

I vote for Bourne

For Outings, the key is to do at least three different socials (Talk, Entertain, Play to begin with) in a fixed order to maximize the benefit, and then repeat. When the relationship is high enough to Gossip and play Red Hands (cancel as soon as they start), the score goes up quicker. Once the relationship is 55 or so, I substitute Friendly Hug for Entertain and the score climbs even quicker. Romantic interactions raise it the fastest.

Thanks for the tip. Do you have to pay attention to everyone like a Party, or can two Sims alone raise the score (and motives)?

EDIT: I moved the poll to Challenge Chat Heir Polls

When my Sims throw the rare party; I just make each one of the family members focus on one person each. The rest of the party goers run around dancing, raiding fridges, invade bedrooms, the usual party stuff. But usually focusing on one or two people is enough to at least make it a roof raiser. Though I've never had the cops come break up a party

Usually two Sims alone can do it (if they can be romantic, all the better), but others in the Outing having negative interactions can drag down the score, so in that case you'll want to cancel those if they're playable, or distract them if they aren't. I've not run into that problem too often.

Michelle, there have not been many parties at the trailer because most of the household friends are sweethearts or lovers. It would be a slap fest. Maybe I need to reserve a few friends to party with. The bonuses could rack up quickly.

I'm currently preparing a neighborhood for the Medieval Charter Challenge. It's like an RKC, but you start out with only one noble and several yeomen and peasants, and there are a heap more rules to it.

As for the semi-historic feel: so - much - CC - ack! :pacman: But I love it (and now that I've figured out that you can have several Sims 2 Documents folders, there's not much stopping me :wizard:

:shifty: I made my own Don the Zombie :shifty:

It'll be a while before that round gets posted, though. Anyone who has read the first chapter of my sims 2 story can probably guess though ;)

Anyways, i just started round 3 only to find that I must have royally messed up last round because some houses are on day 1 of spring but others are on day 4 upon load up. :/ so some houses are gonna have shorter rounds.

Legacy challenge- Generation 3 kids are all teens, 2/6 of them are over achievers, both of the founding couple reached their LTWs, and my lovely founder has pretty much maxed out her skill points too. So they're doing so well!!

Trailer Park Challenge- Generation 2 are tiny, a baby and toddler so far, but they're doing okay. They're short of money and of space though!

One of the gen 2 kiddos in my BACC moved to his own place and managed to get from level 1 to level 7 of his job in one week. He also went on a date with a townie and even though his relationship is 100/100 and she's in love with him, he hasn't fallen in love yet. Hoping that'll happen during his next week because I think she's super cute.
