ok clarification - the maid/butler are off limits - you can only repair during a set window and you can't have the gnomes lot trait - so does this mean all service sims are off limits? Or are they allowed, except for the maid and butler?

clarify my question - can you have a nanny so you can go to work?

I would say no service sims at all. Your career sims can go to work because the game will automatically send your young ones to daycare.

ok, just checking, I think we should specify that since the maid/butler are listed specifically. I will update the rules later

So I fell off the edge of the world the past few days. Work got into my head and took over and I haven't even wanted to open the game. I still need to update the rules with the last changes we decided on. That is on my list for Monday.

Work can be very cruel! :fight: Its good that you can relax here when you need to breathe. Sounds like you've got fun things to do here though. That's nice. :celebration:

Bonuses
Do we have to choose 1 or more as part of the challenge?
"The challenge ends when the child(ren) of the third pregnancy of the third generation reaches adulthood."

Do you mean Young Adult? [TS4]

Get To Work (9 points total)
-Have someone in your family max each of the Get To Work Careers (Scientist, Doctor, Detective). You must “join them” at work at least 50% of the time. (3 Points)
One Sim maxes all three careers? Or three Sims each take and max one of the careers until all three have been maxed?

1. Bonuses are optional, you can play basic without any challenges or you can load up and play for points.

2. Yes young adult

3. Three sims, over the course of the challenge.

Going well enough. I finally got another chapter posted - about 15 minutes ago... they are having a hard life LOL

My sister(singinghymns) has been testing also - I am dropping the Seasons portion, she is going to pick it up (I really, really don't like the gardening part and she enjoys the gardening). She is going to post her updates eventually :) But she has been testing the long lifespan and said it makes the challenge way too easy so I added that it needs to be normal life span. Also she said that the season length needs to be 7 or 14 days. Any longer and the gardening becomes too easy. I still need to make that change.

Sounds good. I told my 2nd job that they were working me too hard, so my hours have been cut back...maybe I will be able to spend more than one day a week in simsland! :praying:

I moved my gaming back to my desktop right before I finished the Bladderstones and it cut down on how much I get to play (playing limited to in my office when my husband isn't home versus playing on my laptop in the living room while watching TV with my husband). But I am hopeful he will want to watch his wrestling this weekend and I will get some good play time while he catches up on his shows (which I don't watch). I need to get a good session so I can get these kids grown up and the family can make some money and recover from their rough beginning.

I think we have most of the bugs worked out of the rules so they should be pretty well in place - but if anything else comes up that needs to be tweaked - the only bonus sets not being played at the moment are Get Together and Outdoor Retreat. I am going to try Outdoor Retreat since I dropped Seasons - it is still summer so I haven't missed the boat on that one, but we have an infant in the house so he has to become a toddler before they can go on vacation to go camping. And they need the money to afford it... they are so broke, they had to run around harvesting flowers and digging ore to pay their bills before the power was turned off during the last play session because they were about 100 simoleons short - and that was before I put in the thermostat to cool them down during the heatwave.

ok I see my boss walking in, time to post and get back to work...

Omg, I am having so much trouble with the vampire bonus. Vlad wandered off and died from the sun (he was a potential spouse/going to be married for his money) and then Caleb was fixing something and got electrocuted (father of the children) and according to MCCC, Victoria (my sim) is pregnant with triplets, has one toddler and has the Vampire Family aspiration and has to have 5 kids. We already got Vlad and Caleb's money, which got us the three lots for the challenge (Vet, Retail, and Clubhouse).

Also, Vampires do not age, so does that mean I can work that to my advantage with completing all the skills and topping careers? Assuming they don't all die the second they emerge as vampires?

Jenn-

I would say that age management for vampires is open-ended...meaning you can do what you want. Keep them around to max all sorts of stuff, but then they take up slots for your kids. Or move them out when their req's are complete. Since this is still in playtesting, we can also see what others think about this question.

I'm doing vampires too, and my founder is the recently turned vamp. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her at this point.

I'm not sure if I ever shared my Sim that I made for this challenge with you all. I have not actually begun the challenge yet. (Playtesting C.E.A. right now) But I have my Sim for it made!

She's going to be a character! Mine is pretty boring. I will have to get my thread on the forum started soon, as I'm writing up the 3rd chapter already.
