What timezone will the 24 hours/day be in? I'm hoping to pop in every day but I'm getting busier so might have to carve a sneaky ten minutes out of my day

It will run on GMT .... as I am in England

I will basically try to put the new days thread out around about midnight ...
so it out a few minutes into my new day.

Is the advent calendar going to be the only events we're having for the holidays?

If there are going to be other events, when are those going to go up?

Would it be possible to get partial points for posting if you don't make it every day? I didn't see the advent calendar for the first time until December 3 just because I hadn't logged in in a while, and then I didn't see that we could get 100 GBO points for posting in every one until the first few were already locked. I've started to post in all of them so far, but I missed the first and the fourth day. If I'm able to login and comment on the other 23 posts (and for other people who might be in the same boat as me), would it be possible to get slightly less points but still earn points for my team?

I've locked the days gone by already and I haven't posted every day either. I don't know if Julie is going to offer partial points for the days you do post on though. I actually forgot to post on the other days and I wanted to.

I second this. I really really thought I got all 25, but went back through to see, and I apparently missed on the 3rd.

I wasn't even trying to post in them all, so I'm not saying this for me.

Also, day 14 wasn't even posted until it was not far off midnight meaning the switch over to the 15th, and a lot of people almost missed that thread, and had to post in the 14th and 15th thread on the same day, so there should be some thing to acknowledge that. Like partial points to those that actually managed to post on the 14th day thread at all.

EVERY single day was posted for me within the first half an hour of its day. (which has taken a lot of effort for me to be here every midnight even though ive been very ill)
The 14th was exactly the same ....
I made a note of that day because i was SHOCKED when i came in later that day and noone had posted on it ...
probably because I did not do my normal when i moved it over ... so obviously nobody actually went into the advent thread to look for it.
It sat there all day untouched because i had not bumped it up.

Also I only locked the medal threads - (15th - 20th - 25th) all of the others I left open
(slyly on purpose so members could get their posts in)
any that have been locked other than the 3 mentioned were not locked by me.

Maybe it wasn't the 14th day then. I know of one, Ani-Mei had to move it into the advent board for you, because it hadn't been moved at all that day. I'll go check.

It was the 14th that almost didn't get posted on time.

Doesn't matter though. It did get put up in the end. I just thought I'd bring it up, if posting on the actual day was what counted towards those going for the 100 points.

I'm sorry to hear you've been ill, Julie. I remember the 14th because it was even mentioned on this thread that Ani had meant to move it out for you. I know in my case the day that I missed (the 3rd) would have been my own fault. I went back to look and the graphics are familiar to me so I know I saw it. It's one of the threads that got locked but it wouldn't matter since I was sure I had already posted. If I had to guess, I most likely typed in a quick reply and didn't bother to watch closely after I hit "send." If someone enters a reply while you were typing, it doesn't have your reply go through. That day was busy a busy one for me (for a fun reason - I got to volunteer doing pet photos with Santa for the local no-kill shelter ), and so I was just likely more distracted than usual and didn't double-check, and that's on me.

I dont get why you are saying i didnt post it when I know i did - I religiously had an alarm set for 11.45pm every night
and most days i stayed on the pc until midnight even thought I wasnt up to being on it.

most days - I added the second tag to the threads on the day before i posted them.
and i nearly scrapped this one for something else


and i know that was the day that I didnt bump the thread when i moved it over.
I wrote it down - because i was shocked when i looked at the thread at 8pm that nobody had posted on it.
I wandered if it was because i hadn't bumped it or if everyone just didnt like the tags.
when i came back at midnight i saw what was written on the thread so
thats why i made sure I posted on the threads to bump it up when i moved them over after that.

When I looked for the December 14th thread after people had posted here to say they hadn't seen it, I looked on the Advent board here in the main forum and only saw December 13th was out. I went into the staff forums and looked under the Events board and I found Dec. 14th still sitting in the staff forum. So I moved it out to the main boards after I saw it there. I've done things like that before, thought I was moving a thread out of the staff forum to the main one and found out I hadn't moved it properly. It was still the 14th here in Ontario so I thought it was still good. Point is stuff happens, it's all well and good now though.
