About this pass the parcel. Can you be more specific? This isn't an American game and I don't understand what to do.

I'm confused about the song lyrics with the pass the parcel. Do you mean actual song lyrics? And if you do does it matter what song?

I don't know what song lyrics Julie was thinking of but from what I understand, this Pass the Parcel is like the American game Hot Potato and you have to pass it around before the potato burns you.

Ani-Mei, that is not at all what pass the parcel is, haha. Is this seriously not a thing in North America? I've played it before at parties, and I'm also from Ontario.

I'm not quite sure how Julie's rules work for the forum version of this game, but here's how the regular party game works:
A prize is wrapped up in many layers of wrapping paper. The wrapped parcel is passed around in a circle, and each person unwraps one layer of the parcel. Whoever unwraps the last layer of the parcel gets to keep the prize. So unlike hot potato, being the last person to end up with the parcel is a good thing. ;)

Sometimes I think additional, smaller prizes are added when the prize gets wrapper. For example: some candy was added when the present was wrapped for the 7th time, so whoever opens that layer gets the candy prize, and then the next person continues unwrapping. I've only ever played it with one prize at the end, though.

A question about the number of events required for a medal; each event post says this:
Participating in at least 5 events will earn you the 12th Birthday medal Image
PM a Moderator or Global Moderator with links to your three posts to claim it!
So is it 3 or 5?

Yeah, I want to know the same. :) I've participated in 3, and I want to know if I need more for my medal.

Really??!!

Basically at childrens parties .... the children sit in a circle and while music is playing they pass a parcel around.
The parcel usually has a big prize in the middle but it is wrapped up quite a few time and has many layers of paper on it - smaller prizes under each layer.
The music is stopped and the person holding the parcel takes a layer off it - and gets a small prize.
The one who has the parcel for the last layer gets the big prize

For the forum version of this ....

You pass the parcel by making a post with it in ... adding any song lyrics for any song a line or verse
specific post numbers will earn members a prize .... say for example post 6 is a prize post (which it isnt  ) .. whoever makes post six will get a pm with either housepoints a medal or a signture tag.

Oh okay. How weird a game. We definitely don't have anything like that here. Sounds like a cross between duck, duck goose and the cake walk.

For pin the plumbob on the sim, will you post when the new starts as we all don't live in the same time zone? It says one guess per day, but when does that new day start?

About Pin The Plumbob, can you use the same number someone else has used, or is it like the lottery where only one person can have that number?

I ask, because on pin the tail on the donkey, sometimes people can pin in the same place.

Yes you can use a number someone else has already used

its a little like a treasure map and you are trying to find the treasure

only 3 of those numbers have prizes so you need to find them :))

Ah! Okay. So, I take it I can't use the same number again. Like since I picked 35, I can't use that again. I get it now.

it isn't in your own best interest to repeat numbers

I always have questions so why not another? This is about the Baby Boom Challenge. I didn't want to ask on the thread in fear of clogging it with my queries.

My main question is: Should the couple be a couple out of CAS or should they be relative strangers upon placement?

You can connect them as a couple in CAS ... but yeah they will be relative strangers when you place them into the file
but it doesn't take long to get them busy ^^

Thanks Julie!

Another dumb question. The rules state that the money they have left after should be spent on necessities and that they will be living in the great outdoors until they have enough to afford a roof over their heads. Since there is no restriction on lot size, what keeps them from using the leftover cash they have on a roof? Unless it's supposed to be akin to a legacy start on the largest lot possible. And be left with the barest minimum amount of cash. Or is it that money that was left over can't be spend on building materials until x time(example the first child is born.)

Sorry for all the dumb questions. I just like to be as above board as possible because I know I'm gonna do something stupid later. :dunce:
