Platinum medal sounds cool to me. I like 30K words or 300 pictures? Maybe call it the Novel award, because you're actually writing a short novel, at that point. Novelette, I suppose? Anyway, that sounds like a good challenge for next year!

Yeah, there's nothing there yet I'm trying to set it up so there's a smidge of content & will open it up by the time SimNo starts Saturday. Also, I just realized I posted the change in the completely wrong thread.

Okay, updated it to get a basic post on there & changed privacy to open. Actual story content will be coming Saturday.

As for the actual topic of different levels.. would it be possible to do sort of an "honor system" and have each person choose what they think would be a good level of challenging-but-achievable for them. For some it may just be "update once a week". For others it may be "300 pictures". For others it may be "30,000 words". Some may choose to leave themselves wiggle room ("at least four updates of 20+ pictures and/or 500+ words each"), obviously swapping out the numbers with whatever you feel pushes your own boundaries but could be achievable.

Though I guess that wouldn't get the three levels, unless each person set their own tiers too. Hmmm...

I've got a notebook of notes for my spring valley Sims storyline . I am Soo ready and I'm setting up the new family now because they are crucial to the dunes family story line .. I cannot wait !

My school semester started this week so I had to finish playing in advance. And we are on vacation the last week of September - spending the week at Carlsbad Caverns. I am also trying to finish playing my OWBC before school takes over my life. But I am looking forward to Saturday.

i've got four updates scheduled in for when i'm away and hoping to squeeze in a fifth - but may be pushing it as my flights are 7am on sunday!

I didn't realize you could prepare ahead of time so here I am, sitting in front of my screen, having no clue how to proceed.
The next chapter I need to write is really just a filler chapter. I'm actually dreading it.

Lol, Simnights I'm with you on the stuck. I've got a filler chapter as well that's just not coming as easily as it should. I just need to get past it!

Yeah - pre-prep is a lifesaver on this. With so much going on in real life, it makes it possible to participate for a lot of people.

That makes sense. I was just comparing it to NaNoWriMo, where you're not supposed to write anything before November starts. That's probably where I got the idea

Yes I am!! To be honest - if I manage to publish one chapter this month I'll consider it a victory as my average updates per month is 0.08333333333/1 a year lmfaoo. I have all the photos, maybe I can manage two as I have a bunch of free time until 7th Sept and am doing No Scroll September, so we'll see how this goes

I know exactly what you mean. School has been kicking my RUMP this past year... my blog stats remind me of this very frequently.

But I'm always pumped for a Darling update, so my fingers are crossed for you!

Heh, pre-prep isn't much of a thing for me as August is crazy busier than September is. But I had to get my town set up at least...and since I was in the town, I had to play. You know, to make sure I liked the new founder. 1.5 sim-weeks in, I guess he's alright. ROFL The town never did get fully set up though. *hehe* Distractable is my middle name.

Man I've always been confused about the Official NaNo rules anyways; when does research and planning and even outlines cross into illegal pre-writing? That being said I never officially participated there either, just tried to tell my friends that writing lots of sims stories is the saaaaame.

I'm going hardcore(ish) and saving actual writing and screenshots for September only but it doesn't stop planning and fun with poses.

NaNo was always really picky in my opinion - to the point of extremeness.

You're brave Trip, but I believe in you! I, unfortunately, am starting up an extreme workload at school so I'm taking all the pre-planning I can get. Plus if it carries over and keeps me moving, then I'm sure as hell not going to complain.
