Number of skills mastered?

Post by DSLady »

So I'm working on my EPIC challenge at the moment, which is - of course - all about skilling, and one of my sims has now mastered an insane number of skills! She did have a death flower and has since maxed a couple more skills, but it got me wondering - what's the highest number of skills you've ever had a sim master? And if you can remember; Who was the sim? Which skills did they master? Did they have any skilling traits?

My sim is Galadriel Evans. She has genius, eccentric, and green thumb skill traits. So far she has mastered nine skills! Inventing, Cooking, Fishing, Gardening, Science, Handiness, Piano, Logic, and Drums!

I play TS2, so I'm limited to 7 skills + golden badges, but I think the sim who has the most would be my legacy founder's wife (Marielle Hollinter). She maxed out the 7 main skills to meet her LTW, and she's also earned the golden pottery badge + golden gardening badge. I normally don't go for the badges, and when I do, it's almost always limited to just one per sim, so the bonus gardening badge she got from turning into a plant sim puts her ahead of all my other sims.

I think I'm going to try to have her get the flower arranging badges though, so I can get some snapdragons my legacy house. That, and if I don't give her something to work on, she just follows her husband around the house. It's cute, but also distracts him from working on his skills.

Well, in Sims 2 I had a few Sims max all 7 skills for their LTW. I think a couple of those Sims had a few talent badges too, but I couldn't have them learn any of the Apartment Life skills because I didn't have it. (Thanks for never releasing it for Mac, EA!)

In Sims 3 I guess the Sim who maxed the most skills was Angelo Scatterday, my Gen. 3 legacy spouse. He maxed two skills, Handiness and Logic, for his LTW (The Tinkerer), and he went on to max Cooking and Athletic as an elder. He maxed his Athletic skill about five minutes before he died, too. :ouch Angelo had the Handy trait, which helped with his LTW, and which meant that I never had to hire a repairman while he was alive. He also had a handful of other skills, but I can't recall them right now because he didn't max them.

I'm forcing everyone to max at least one skill in my EPIC - even spares have to max something, before they leave the house. Most of the heirs/spouses are maxing 4+ skills each. Seaweed has the most - also with a death flower - he maxed 7 skills; cooking, gardening, athletic, science, logic, fishing & charisma. He had no skilling traits, not did I force him to skill endlessly after he turned elder, so could have done more if he tried harder.

Oh man, I totally forgot about the Apartment Life skills! Thanks for reminding me about those, gotta get my founders to study those next. :) I think they might have learned parenting, but fire safety and physiology I'm not sure about... :hmm:

The only skill AL had was the magic one, the others you described were in FT. When I play TS2 I always have them learn those 7 FT skills, because the fire safety one saved my Apocalypse from dying out on the second/third gen. As for TS3, I usually cheat them skills so can't really say how many they earned legitimately except if they needed them for their LTW like my Rainbowcy founder Clear. If that's what I go with, I'd say about four skills non-cheated. Painting, Guitar, Cooking, Broom Riding.

Largely without cheats, I've got a couple people in the Legacy Greek house who have two or three maxed skills. And in a previous iteration of Riverblossom Hills, Daisy Greenman had not only the gold badge that came free with being a plantsim, but maximized creativity and cleaning skill.

... If I ever get someone with "Max 7 skills" as a LTW they'd better have been born-in game and get that smartmilk head start. :)
