BNTM Season 10: A question

Post by Rhea »

Hi everyone!

We are all busy planning the 10th (yep, that's right - 10th) season of BNTM! We are looking at starting it in June or July.

We have a question for you all though. We are toying with the idea of 2 different timelines. Which would you prefer?

Option 1: 3 weeks per round (2 for entries and 1 for judging) and 7-8 rounds. That's 21-24 weeks. It sounds like it is long (it is), but that gives you all plenty of time for entries.

Option 2: 1 week for entries, 1 week for judging. That's 14-16 weeks.

Option 3: Your suggestion! If you select this option, please be sure to note a suggestion below.

To assist you all in making a decision, I should also note: last season was back to basics. As this is our 10th season of BNTM, it will not be basic. We're bringing back the unique rounds. :)

Maybe the length could depend on when we start?
Just so the whole competition will be finished before the holidays begin, since that's when everybody gets really busy!!

I'm not sure when the summer holiday starts in the US, but in Canada that would be in 8 weeks (end of June). I don't think that would be enough time.

Oh I meant holidays as in Christmas/Hannukah/etc lol! Because option 1, which seems to be most popular so far, could go up to 5 months

Oops, my mistake! I agree that having the competition finished before the winter/fall holidays start would be ideal.

We could reduce the number of rounds to do this. This will also have a few variables depending on how many people participate. Everything is still up in the air at this point. I'd say just vote based on your favorite timeline, and we'll work out the rest. :) I also agree it should end before the holidays though.

Hey - so can we use Sims from 2, 3, or 4?

I had a thought. Maybe a week and a half for entries. Nice and in the middle. Though it would make the judging weeks inconsistent which might be hard on the judges.
