Trust me to :fbomb: up this round... I thought I'd do something cute in honour of the first day of February, but naturally I put the toast down for a bit of extra crispiness and got distracted. So here's my cold, dry, black-stuff-scraped-off, microwaved-to-melt-the-butter, heart-shaped toast with sugar and cinnamon. Pretty much a metaphor for my life.

In case anyone was concerned, I hate wasting food so I ate the extremely burnt crusts as punishment for my failures.

We're selling these 'toastie pockets' at work, of which I only bought because they were reduced to half price. If I'd have checked here beforehand I would've been able to grab a picture of the cheese&ham toasties that my mother and I made with them, but I did not and ended up making this instead.

It's not toast, exactly, but it's toasted so that counts, right?

I grilled the bacon, and then stuffed it into the toastie and put it back under the grill so that the bacon could crisp and the toastie could, well, toast.

Toast on some homemade beer bread with fancy condiments! One slice has a tiny bit of butter and some strawberry jam, which was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend's grandmother, and the other slice has pecan pie flavoured almond butter. The jam was actually pretty good - I'm really not a fan of jam, so I'm surprised that I liked it. I also had an apple, because I need to have a fruit with my breakfast. Oh, and coffee. I love coffee. :coffee:
