I just have to shake the sleep haze from my head and get writing. I had one of those nights where you end up locked in a dream and can't wake up when you want to, it's really rather annoying. I didn't get up till 2:45 today.
The head haze is gone and I managed to get 1750 words today, I missed the chance to update my total on day 1 so it says I'm behind now, here' s an excerpt and my cover for it:
Dr.Sararla was the lead scientist on the planetary discovery mission and his team were the best in the world, according to him. He selected each of his twelve members personally based on their academic records and their family status. Dr. Sararla was as much a man of science as he was of status and wealth; his branch of the family was directly related to the ruling monarch of this side of the planet and he felt it made him better than any other ordinary scientist. He was determined to find that planet out among the stars which would revolutionize their own planet and he had made it his life’s mission to be the first one to contact an alien race. He had his family’s full support in his pursuits as well as some high level influence in the government and as such Dr. Sararla had more than enough sway to do whatever he wanted. This was his observatory and he made sure that those who worked under him knew that; his family had the power and money to make anything he wanted come true. He stood in his office that overlooked the observatory floor; he could see his team working away at their tasks they had been assigned. He had just read a report from his superiors that informed him they were going to start searching the next quadrant in a few days. This quadrant had been sparsely explored by his predecessors and they never found anything before that whole thing with the Shadow Sealer happened. Dr. Sararla was more confident that he would find something this time; he had a gut feeling deep down that this quadrant would finally reveal the alien race he was searching for. He smiled as he glanced over his team; one of his junior scientists suddenly changed her declination on the telescope.
“What are you doing? You don’t have authorization to change the position!” Dr. Sararla yelled.
He ran down to the floor to berate his junior scientist some more when a sudden flash of light blinded every one of the scientists who happened to be looking through the lenses at the time. The flash of light made all the computers start rapidly spitting out lines of code and coordinates, but none of the scientists in the observatory were conscious to receive them.
I wasn't going to do NaNo this year. But inspiration hit me last night. I've been writing like a fiend. Hopefully the idea keeps flowing, I tend to forget where I was going around 10,000 words. I'm definitely flying by the seat of my pants this time.
Yay! I just hit 10k. I love going to local write-ins because that's where I've made some of my best local friends. There's another one I'm going to tomorrow. Good luck and happy writing to you other Wrimos.
I didn't do any writing yesterday (but did go see Doctor Strange!) and I can feel the guilt already, my plan was to do the word count everyday so I wouldn't have to catch up so now I'm dreading writing today
I added everyone who posted their names. I'm Simpony over there. (Pony was already taken )
I'm so close to ten thousand words. But I'm nervous about losing my idea. I'm being super careful on the music I listen to and the tv shows I watch while I write. I'm so flaky I'm afraid I'll drop my current idea like a hot potato.
Well I had a good post going then my browser ate it. Yesterday I found out that my tests confirmed that I have MS and then the power went out for three and half hours last night so I couldn't write. I got to 21 000 words and that looks like all I'll be getting this time. I will probably finish it later but since Pokemon Sun and Moon is coming out on Friday I'll be playing that a lot for the rest of the month. I've been waiting for it for a long time and I found the demo to be kind of boring now. Anyway, I had blood work done today so my life is pretty unsettled right now so it doesn't seem that I'll be writing anymore.
Really sorry to hear that, Ani-Mei. My mom has MS and she manages pretty well, so don't totally give up hope with a scary diagnosis. I hope you can access good treatment and see improvement. Stories can always wait for the right time.
I'm not giving up hope, it's early on and my neurologist said to up my doses of vitamin D. I think it will keep things from getting too severe, I'd hook up an IV for vitamin D if it keeps it mild. Anyway, I haven't written a word in six days and probably come back to this when I feel like it. I've also been playing Pokemon Sun and that's actually something I want to do right now, also I was binge watching Once Upon A Time...
