Theres a similar post up in The Sims 3, so thought i'd make one here! What do you guys find hard in the sims 4?
For me, one of the main things I struggle with is making friends. Since the whole socialising aspect at work/school thing went, my sims barely make friends and keep them! I find it so hard in this game, like they dont go over to other houses after school and barely bring friends home. You cant socialise and make friends at work either and maintain that relationship through going to work.... And i barely find time to go out of my way and make the sims go out and socialise and maintain relationships. Meh.

Ugh, I agree with you about the friends. There was a mod that I liked that decreased the decay rate of relationships, so at least you could keep the ones you made, but the latest update broke it.
For me, the most challenging things are careers! I find it so hard to get promoted sometimes, especially in the higher levels, and doing the daily task when you have a couple of kids and are trying to finish an aspiration and and and . . . it's a bit of a hassle. So that's my sims Achilles heel.

OMG yes getting a promotion is insanely hard. It seems to take forever for that stupid performance bar to go up high enough.
I also find it extremely challenging to complete the aspirations in this game too. Like I can only focus on one sim in a house because getting everyone else happy just doesn't seem to happen. And inevitably I end up needing a ton of promotions to level up their aspiration and then it's like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo. I was so close to reading the top. Has anyone even managed to complete multiple aspirations with a single sim. I still haven't managed to complete even one goal with one sim yet.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
Mysterymusic7, I have completed multiple aspirations, but it's a case of working really hard on the first one and then choosing the right ones afterwards. I had a sim that rolled Fabulously Wealthy and nearly everyone in her family were really good painters, and she herself learned to paint when she wasn't working, so she reached it in young adulthood. I then had her complete Painter Extraordinaire, which was a piece of cake since she already had a lot of painting skill. Now she's working on Computer Whiz, which is a bit harder. Some of the aspirations are definitely more challenging than others. Her husband managed to complete Outdoor Enthusiast around the same time, which honestly I was a lot prouder of because that one was a pain.
Careers, making friends, and aspirations all require a lot of grinding in general and can be hard to balance in a household. Still, I really like this game.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
I hate to jump on the bandwagon with everyone else, but the careers man. It always seems to take forever to get promoted. Hahha, but it's more realistic I suppose. It's just after sims 2 where you usually got promoted in 2 sim days, it's just an adjustment. I'll get over it.
Getting to know people does seem to take a lot longer too, but I'm sure eventually we'll all learn little tricks that make it easier, or with EP's they'll install features that help with that. Ah EP's...though I'm being pickier (right now) about which ones I buy.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
Before they made the changes to make aspirations easier, my gen 2 heiress completed 13 Aspirations, maxed 15 skills, and had 36 traits at time of death, with no life extensions except the Athletic bonus thing. I put some effort into it, but it was mostly the Never Weary trait that let me do so much. Pretty sure they changed how that works now :3
Trying to start a legacy only making money from a career is challenging for me. I forbid my founders to get extra money from collections/paintings/writing/etc, so it takes a WHILE to be able to buy an actual run-down shack.
I also find it difficult to figure out who my sims are attracted to. They don't seem to get specific romantic whims unless they're already involved and it's just kind of.. I dunno. I miss lightning bolts.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
Thanks for doing this for the sims 4, because it is more challenging of itself.
Normally I like to walk away leaving the game running, just doing that runs the risk of bills being unpaid which leads to sim death...
The smallness of the towns... I almost dislike building anymore, because there's no way to build a house and play in that town, in my thinking, without there being a lack of space. Especially considering if you have fill available houses checked.
And again, same gripe I've had with S3 over making sims to be a certain way, I've done it a couple times, but its really hard to keep things in place, like hostility for instance. When outdoors came out, I made a couple sims and intended for them to be hostrile to each other... Worked for a day or three... Even given how social engineering works in S4, it's still meant to be a sort of head in the clouds game, which the real world is not.
Overall, I find S4 more challenging than the previous title... "....Lacking hair color and eye color options...." As a result, I've drifted a bit away from s4, but still play sometimes...
I agree with previous posts on aspirations, chemistry, job promotions... Sims 4 is certainly a challenge...
They need working solar panels back too...

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
What I find difficult is that I mix up certain things from the TS2, TS3 and TS4. For example, I just got back into TS4 and I wanted to have my Sim age up. I spent forever trying to find the birthday cake. Which category did they hide it in? Finally, I broke down an googled it. Duh. You have to bake it. I was just so used to TS3, I completely forgot how it's different for TS4.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
Laura, I know what you mean! For me, it is the location of the controls in the upper right corner. When I go from Sims 2 to 4 or back again, I always look for the controls in the wrong spot. Always. That's not a huge problem to have, really, but it is annoying to do it 10,000 times.
I also agree with Blaqhawk and lumasong about missing chemistry. I just pick random sims and, assuming they can get along, go for it, but it makes me feel unsure.

Re: What is challenging in the Sims 4?
I agree with everyone that has mentioned both making friends and careers. I had just made a load of friends and was making an effort to have social sims and today it looks like they have just disappeared. The relationship scores weren't even low, in fact it was one of my sims boyfriend that disappeared.
As for the careers I feel like it takes forever to get promoted. Maybe I am not using the moods the best that I can so hopefully I will get better at it. I also think I need to get used to balancing the careers with having a lot of sims in the house, though it might be harder for me because my game keeps chucking twins and triplets at my legacy family
