So you can download and install it, but you can't run it until the release date? That's weird but amusing :).

Yeah, you can preload it. So it goes through the download process and then in origin you get a teaser of a greyed out played button with the date and time that you will be able to click said button. For me that time is 10:00 p.m. on Sept. 1st.

Don't do it, don't do it! It just gives you the urge to play, and you cannot.

I ended up back in the CAS demo for awhile today after I installed it and just wanted to play.

Ha ha ha, that's exactly what I was just doing! I made a Mr. & Mrs. Sprat... you know Jack? He could eat no fat? His wife no lean? They're a pretty unique mix.

Oooh seeing you guys talk about it (and having fiddled around in the CAS demo myself as well) I'm getting more and more excited and wanting to buy it... Still not sure! Definitely don't have the money right away, that's for sure.

Jack Sprat could eat no fat.
His wife could eat no lean.
And so between them both, you see,
They licked the platter clean.

From Tom's Guide
Curiously, fans aren't miserable about the lack of water features and bathing suits. They're instead really upset because removing the ladders from pools was a very popular way to murder irritating Sims in games past. If you still want to contribute to the simulated mayhem, you'll have to take the old-fashioned route and ensure your targets are near the stove during a kitchen fire.

Anne - watch the forums on the 2nd! I'm sure Teresa & I will both be posting info, and I think others will as well. :) Maybe that might give you a better idea of if you want the game?

Aren't there new deaths now? So you can just make them die of laughter or something...

Anyway I had to get a new laptop so now I have a computer that can run Sims 4 with no problems, I just don't think I want to spend the money to buy it and you'd have to use a digital download which I also don't like. Does anyone still have the urge to try this?

Well, I personally enjoy it, though I acknowledge the game has faults and deficiencies, and I'm a traditionalist about owning discs, so the digital downloads made me uneasy as well. That being said, I've gotten used to it and I enjoy the gameplay and the graphics. Judging by some of the great Sims 4 legacies and challenges on here, I'm not alone. ;) Sims 4 seems to be really polarizing for some people though, so I know it's not for everyone. Just my two cents.

The digital download is a bit iffy at first, but its actually really awesome! No worries about losing discs, breaking discs... and the game updates itself automatically when new patches and updates come out with new features!

I've been playing TS4 for quite a while and absolutely love it! It's not TS3 or TS2 but that's why I still have those games ;)

I feel the same as the others about the digital download thing - but now I can store my game cases and CDs, rather than have them take up space while I'm at uni, which is awesome.

As for the game itself, I really enjoy it. It took me a little bit of time to get used to it, but once I did I was hooked. I do still load up the other games from time to time, as you know! :)
